The Numbur Cheese Circuit Trekking is an eco-camping adventure that starts in Shivalaya. From there, the trek ascends to Manedanda, following the scenic Khimti river valley. The journey includes a challenging pass at Panchpokhari, which sits at an altitude of 4600 meters, and Gyano Ka at 4880 meters. The descent takes you along the Likhu river valley to Gumdel, before ascending again to Serding. The trek concludes via Lapchane and Those.
This trek offers a unique opportunity to witness the rich biodiversity along the Khimti and Likhu river valleys, featuring a range of vegetation from temperate to alpine. You’ll encounter blooming rhododendrons, alpine forests, bamboo patches, and vibrant pastures. These areas are home to beautiful and endangered species, including the red panda, musk deer, exotic birds, Himalayan thar, and occasionally the elusive snow leopard. The trek also provides a glimpse into the pure Sherpa culture and traditional lifestyle in Khahare, Khachhewar, Kyama, Gumdel, and Serding.
