Scaling the Majestic Kanchenjunga: An Expedition to the World’s Third-Highest Peak
The Kanchenjunga expedition takes you to the awe-inspiring third-highest mountain in the world, standing at an impressive 8,586 meters. This majestic peak is located in the eastern part of Nepal, on the border with Sikkim, approximately 46 miles northwest of Darjeeling. Kanchenjunga is a colossal mountain mass with several peaks emerging from its narrow, icy ridges. In 1955, a British team, including legendary climbers Joe Brown and George Band, made history by reaching the summit. Out of respect for local traditions, they halted just short of the peak. The North Face route, though considered the safest, presents significant challenges. The journey begins at the scenic base camp of Pangpema, perched at 5,180 meters, where climbers prepare to establish three camps along the North Ridge.
