Dhading And Gorkha Village Trekking
Manaslu and Ganesh Himal Adventure: A Cultural and Natural Journey
Embark on a trekking adventure that starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Samari Bhanjyang, the gateway to the Manaslu Trek and the Ganesh Himal. The villages along this route are a testament to traditional Nepalese life, where agriculture is the backbone of the community. Here, you’ll see fields of corn, potatoes, rice, and millet, cultivated by subsistence farmers who rely on the land for their livelihood.
The villages on this trek were deeply affected by the earthquake, but they have since been rebuilt. As you explore, you’ll notice the resilience of the people and the contrast between the old and newly constructed homes, a symbol of recovery and hope.
This trek is a cultural mosaic, blending Buddhism and Hinduism. One of the highlights is the Ganga Jamuna twin waterfall, a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site. Every year, a vibrant fair is held here, three days before the full moon in early November. The site is revered for a holy stone, believed to hold divine power, from which water flows. This trail also offers visits to both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites, enriching your spiritual journey.
As you trek, you’ll be surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The trail is adorned with rhododendron and pine forests, home to a variety of bird species and wild animals. Along the way, you’ll have breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Himal, Annapurna, Gorkha Himal, and many other peaks. The trek concludes in Gorkha, the ancient seat of the Shah Dynasty, which ruled before the establishment of the Republic. Gorkha is the birthplace of Prithvi Narayan Shah, who unified the country. The area offers panoramic views of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Himchuli, Lamjung Himal, and lush green valleys. The Gorakhnath Temple is another notable attraction in Gorkha.
