Our expedition to Chulu West Peak commences with a drive from Kathmandu to Jagat, passing through Besisahar town. Along the way, we will traverse Khudi, Bhulbhule, and Ngadi. As we make our way to Dharapani, we will be greeted by breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
The trail winds through a dense forest of pine, fir, and oak trees. We will also catch sight of the Marsyangdi River on our left, and as we near Chame, the majestic Annapurna II will come into view.
Continuing our trek, we will pass through Pisang, Manang, and Ledar. From Ledar, we will undertake a steep climb for approximately 4 hours to reach the Chulu West Base Camp at 4,820 meters.
Next, we will ascend to the High Camp, situated at an elevation of around 5,100 meters. The highlight of our journey will be reaching the summit of Chulu West Peak, standing tall at 6,419 meters. The panoramic views of the towering peaks from the summit are truly captivating.
We will then trek across uneven terrain to Thorung Phedi and cross the Thorung-La Pass at 5,416 meters. Our final destination is Muktinath, a sacred site for both Buddhists and Hindus, where the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Conclusion

Itinerary
Upon arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, a representative from Trekking Guide Team Adventure will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Spend the day relaxing and acclimatizing to your new surroundings. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Dedicate this day to preparing for the upcoming trek. Gather essential gear such as crampons, webbing, harnesses, ice axes, sleeping bags, trekking poles, and other necessary equipment. If you need to purchase any items, our staff will guide you. We will also help you obtain the required permits and documents. A pre-trek briefing with our staff or guides will be held. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Jagat via Besisahar town. Along the way, take in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. We will pass through Dumre and Besisahar, the headquarters of Lamjung district. From there, we will follow a dirt road down to the Bhalam River, passing through Khudi, Bhulbhule, and Ngadi. We will also walk through several settlements in Syange before climbing to Jagat. Overnight stay in Jagat.
Starting from Jagat, we will trek for about 5 hours to Dharapani. The trail descends to the Marsyangdi River and then passes through a dense forest, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna Himalayan range. We will also pass through Sattale, Tal Karte, and Tal Besi on our way to Dharapani. Overnight stay in Dharapani.
We will hike up to Chame, taking approximately 5 hours. The trail passes through a dense forest of pine, fir, and oak trees. The south face of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) will be a highlight. We will also see the Marsyangdi River on our left, with stunning views of Annapurna II. Chame is the district headquarters of Manang. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
Continuing from Chame, we will trek to Pisang at an altitude of 3,300m. We will start early to enjoy the sunrise over the Lamjung Himal (6,893m). Passing through Brathangs village, we will see a beautiful waterfall. The trail crosses the Marsyangdi River twice and passes through rhododendron, pine, and oak forests. Pisang is located at the base of the Pisang peak. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
We will trek from Pisang to Ghyaru Village, enjoying views of Annapurna II and III. Then, we will continue to Manang Village, taking about 6 hours. The trail offers stunning views of grasslands and the Annapurna Himalayan range. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
Today is a rest day in Manang to acclimatize to the high altitude. Acclimatization is crucial to avoid altitude sickness. We will explore the village and visit the beautiful Gangapurna Lake. Optionally, you can visit the Mountaineering School for basic training. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
We will trek through the rural community of Ghunsang and ascend to Yak Kharka, leaving the Tilicho path behind. We will follow the Gundon Khola River and cross a wooden bridge to reach Yak Kharka. From there, we will continue to Ledar, a small settlement with stunning views of Annapurna III and Chulu Peak. Overnight stay in Ledar.
Taking a steep ascent, we will trek for about 4 hours to reach Chulu West Base Camp at 4,820m. The base camp offers a spectacular panorama of the Annapurna range. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Overnight stay at the base camp.
We will continue our ascent to the High Camp at an elevation of 5,520m. The trail may include some technically challenging sections. The views from the high camp are captivating. Overnight stay at the high camp.
This is the highlight of our expedition. We will climb to the summit of Chulu West Peak at 6,419m. The ascent involves an icy path with the use of ropes, ice axes, and crampons. The summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. We will return to the base camp via the same route. Overnight stay at the base camp.
We will trek gradually to the periphery and descend to the Marsyangdi River. Crossing a wooden bridge, we will follow a narrow trail up a steep hill to Thorung Phedi. From there, we will continue to Thorung High Camp. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
We will descend to the Marsyangdi River and cross a wooden bridge. The trail becomes narrower and more uneven as we approach Thorung-La Pass at 5,416m. After crossing the pass, we will trek to Muktinath, a sacred site for Buddhists and Hindus. Muktinath is known for its temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the 108 water spouts. We will have an easy trek for about 4 hours, descending through Jharkot village. Jharkot is home to the Thakali community, known for their unique traditions. Continuing our descent, we will reach Kagbeni, located in the Kali Gandaki River valley. Overnight stay in Kagbeni.
Departing from Kagbeni, we will trek to Jomsom, taking about 4 hours. Enjoy the stunning views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri along the way. We will pass through apple orchards and the village of Ekle Bhatti before reaching Jomsom. Jomsom is the district headquarters of Mustang, known for its apple products. Overnight stay in a teahouse.
We will take a 22-minute flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Upon arrival, visit popular attractions such as Gupteshore Cave, Davi’s Fall, and Fewa Lake, where you can enjoy boating. The views of the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri are truly captivating. Overnight stay in a hotel.
After an unforgettable time in Pokhara, we will drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying the scenic views of the Himalayas against the green hills. The drive takes about 6 hours. You can rest in the hotel or go shopping. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
