Lobuche Peak is classified as a trekking peak and offers a rewarding 6,000-meter mountaineering adventure in Nepal’s Khumbu region. Your journey will take you across the remarkable landscapes of the Khumbu valley, including a hike to the renowned Kala Patthar viewpoint for acclimatization before arriving at Lobuche Base Camp.
Although our itinerary does not include a visit to Everest Base Camp, you have the option to customize your trek if you wish.
This expedition uniquely combines trekking and mountaineering, enriched with exposure to Nepal’s rich culture and warm hospitality.
Explore the wild beauty of Sagarmatha National Park, witness spectacular sunrises and sunsets, endless mountain vistas, and diverse terrain.
If you want to start your Himalayan climbing journey on the right note, Lobuche Peak is an excellent choice. It also serves as a great acclimatization climb before tackling bigger peaks like Ama Dablam or Everest. No matter your climbing goals, we offer exceptional support and services for your Lobuche expedition.
Lobuche East vs. Lobuche West Peaks
Lobuche Peak has two summits: East (6,119 m / 20,075 ft) and West (6,145 m / 20,161 ft). The East Peak is categorized as a trekking peak, suitable for novices, while the West Peak is a technical climb requiring prior experience and specialized skills.
For this 19-day expedition, you will be climbing Lobuche East Peak, which has no technical climbing challenges and is ideal for beginners.
What is Climbing a Peak in Nepal Like?
Climbing in Nepal is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with excitement, challenges, emotions, and deep personal growth. The experience builds leadership, resilience, and a strong sense of camaraderie.
Although the climb is demanding and you might question your choices at times, you can rely on the expertise and support of our guides and crew to keep you safe and motivated.
Our itinerary also includes time for sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu. After flying to Lukla, you will trek for about seven days, spending nights in picturesque Sherpa villages such as Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche.
Acclimatization breaks in Namche Bazaar and a trek to Kala Patthar are crucial to adjust to the altitude and avoid sickness.
Ahead of your arrival, the base camp team sets up tents and prepares your stay. Afterward, you move to a high camp before your summit attempt, navigating rocky slopes and fixed ropes under your guide’s supervision.
Following the summit, you’ll descend to the high camp, rest overnight, then continue down to base camp and onward to Pheriche, retracing your route back to Lukla.
