Kharta Valley Trek

Embark on a breathtaking and adventurous trek that takes you through rugged valleys, towering mountain passes, and pristine glacial lakes. Along the journey, you’ll be treated to some of the most awe-inspiring views in the Himalayas. In warmer months, the snowy peaks contrast beautifully with vibrant, blooming valleys.

One of the main highlights is the remote and serene Kangshung Valley, often called the “Valley of Flowers.” The trek reaches its highest point at Lingam La Pass (5,320 meters), offering unmatched panoramic views on clear days. From this vantage, you’ll see a majestic array of Himalayan giants, including Makalu, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse, and Mount Everest, all rising above lush, green valleys.

A dream for many trekkers, we’ll also visit Everest Base Camp, with the unforgettable sight of Everest’s towering North Face—a truly life-changing experience. After days of trekking, the adventure ends with a relaxing stay in Lhasa. Rich in history and spiritual significance, this ancient city invites you to explore its colorful streets, vibrant markets, and sacred monasteries, offering an authentic taste of Tibetan culture.

Itinerary

Day 01 :
Land in Kathmandu – airport pickup, hotel check-in, and welcome dinner.
Day 02 :
Discover the rich history and cultural sites of Kathmandu with a guided city tour.
Day 03 :
Begin the journey with a drive to the Nepal-Tibet border, cross over, and continue to Nyalam.
Day 04 :
Stay in Nyalam to allow your body to adjust to the altitude.
Day 05 :
A scenic but long drive through Tibetan landscapes brings us to Kharta (about 10 hours).
Day 06 :
Take it easy today in Kharta. Use this day to rest, breathe in the mountain air, and get your body used to the altitude before the trek intensifies.
Day 07 :
The trek officially begins as we set off toward Lundrubling, surrounded by rugged hills and quiet wilderness.
Day 08 :
We ascend Shao La Pass, standing tall at 4,970 meters, then descend into the peaceful Kaamo Tsangpo Valley, a landscape shaped by glaciers and time.
Day 09 :
Today’s route brings us into the untouched heart of Kangshung Valley, where snow-capped peaks frame vast meadows and streams.
Day 10 :
Our path winds further into the mountains until we reach Pethang Ringmo, a campsite nestled in serene alpine surroundings.
Day 11 :
We journey onward to Hoppo, crossing grasslands and passing beneath towering cliffs as the Himalayas grow ever closer.
Day 12 :
A memorable day we make it to the stunning Kangshung Base Camp. After soaking in the view of Everest’s eastern face, we return to Hoppo by evening.
Day 13 :
We trek through the valley to the foot of Langma La Pass, resting and preparing for tomorrow’s high-altitude challenge.
Day 14 :
We scale the formidable Langma La (5,330m), rewarded at the top with spectacular panoramic views, then descend to Lundrubling once more.
Day 15 :
Retrace our trail to Kharta, bringing a sense of accomplishment and familiarity with every step.
Day 16 :
A scenic drive takes us to Rongbuk, near the foot of Everest's mighty north side. Ancient monasteries dot the landscape.
Day 17 :
We visit Everest Base Camp, standing beneath the towering north face of the world’s highest peak, then continue to Lhatse by vehicle.
Day 18 :
The road carries us westward to Gyantse, a Tibetan town known for its historic fortress and vibrant charm.
Day 19 :
After a short morning of local sightseeing, we head to Lhasa, the spiritual heart of Tibet.
Day 20&21 :
Spend two days exploring Lhasa: visit sacred temples, walk through bustling markets, and discover centuries-old monasteries.
Day 22 :
Take a flight back to Kathmandu, transitioning from the high plateaus of Tibet to the bustling capital of Nepal.
Day 23 :
Relax or explore the city at your leisure. Pick up souvenirs or reflect on your journey before gathering for a final farewell dinner.
Day 24 :
Time to say goodbye. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, filled with memories of mountains, culture, and adventure.
