Druk Path Bhutan Trekking
Embark on a scenic adventure along the historic Druk mule trail, once the primary route between Paro and the capital, Thimphu. This trek leads you through vibrant rhododendron and pine forests, along open ridges, beside alpine lakes, across yak pastures, and past remote hilltop monasteries. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of Chomolhari (7,314m) and Bhutan’s highest mountain, Gangkhar Puensum (7,541m).
Beyond the natural beauty, you’ll also experience Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. Time is set aside to explore the unique traditions of this Himalayan kingdom in Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha. Highlights include a challenging hike to the iconic Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff, and a visit to Punakha Dzong, the former royal capital.
Travel in December promises clear, sunny days and peaceful trails with few other trekkers. In April, the trip includes the vibrant Paro Festival, offering a deeper look into Bhutanese culture.
